Supermoon not super photos!

Hubby told me about the moon over the 22nd and 23rd June, so I made a decision to try to get some photos if the weather cleared. Yesterday was not great but it picked up later and the sky cleared at about 8.30pm. So I asked Hubby if he'd like to take a walk along the South West Coastal Path to see the moon rise with me.

Sadly it was still misty over the horizon so the Supermoon came up in a haze. I tried lots of times to get a decent photo but I'm afraid they're not great. However we did have some wonderful bats flying around us as we walked.

I like this one as I just managed to get a seagull flying past.

We walked back home in the beautiful twilight.

  1. I misread the title and got all excited that you were going to show us pictures of Henry Cavill :-)

I didn't know about the Super Moon until today but did remark to M last night that it was looking rather gorgeous as it peeped above the trees.

Love the last pic in particular, and how romantic to walk along coastal paths under a luminous rising moon with your beloved.

    1. Thanks CT, it was a lovely walk and so still. It was too late in the evening for most tourists so we had it to ourselves and the bats and moths of course.

  2. I think your photos are lovely and very atmospheric! I like the golden glow of the first two and the sparkle of the last two and I couldn't think of a better setting to view the moon! x

    1. Many thanks for your comment. I was feeling a little disappointed with the photos at first but when I put them into this post they looked a bit better. It was a lovely excuse to go out for a walk anyway.

    1. Thanks Em. That last one was just as it came out of the camera, I didn't edit it at all. That's a shame you didn't see it you would have taken some great shots I'm sure.

    1. Many thanks for your comment. The coastal path is beautiful all year round and one of the reasons we chose the location. I will get out more often and try to show it through the changing seasons. I think very early morning is when it's at it's most beautiful.

    1. Hi Wendy, thanks for your comment. In fact thanks to everyone for their comments on my supermoon photos-they really cheered me up. You are right it is very peaceful and these last few days have been so still and calm. Last photo turned out quite well and it was my very last photo too.

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. I read them all. At the moment I'm struggling for time making it difficult to reply individually to each comment, but I'll do my best.
