Not Happy Monkeys

We've had enough of being messed about in this attempted house purchase. Delays and excuses from the vendors. Full commitment from ourselves with nothing in return, not even an exchange of contracts after 4 months from our offer being accepted.

Mr and Mrs SeagullSuzie thinking hard about their future

Today is make or break day!

I'll keep you posted folks

  1. Oh dear! my husband used to a conveyancer (now retired), he's heard it all! Where was you hoping to buy?

  2. I empathise with you Suzie and perhaps it is time to throw the towel in and look for somewhere else. Mind you it all may be just the fault of the solicitors, it is hard to know because the truth can be hard to come by in that profession

    1. Many thanks Mel, our solicitors were great, just delay after delay with the sellers for some reason.

  3. Oh how bloody annoying! I was so hoping it was all going well and you'd be in and unpacked before Christmas. Sending positive vibes that the house situ resolves itself smartly for you both :o)

  5. Thinking of you making this decision, 4 months seems such a long time without full commitment. It is a lovely image to illustrate just how you feel! Sarah x

  6. I am so sorry to hear of the problems you are having. I really do hope you can get a firm commitment from the owners and can start moving things forward. It must be unbearably frustrating for you both :(

  8. It is so annoying when these things happen. We had a similar situation and in the end we went looking for another house, found this one and bought it and it all went straight through with (relative) ease. Certainly a lot quicker than the first house. Perhaps it is time to start looking again, you should still leave the other one ticking along while you go and see what else is out there. The house next to us "sold" in the summer, but still the person hasn't moved out, no idea why the delay, I thought these things were supposed to be a lot quicker these days. Whatever happens I hope that you can sort things out to be how you want them. Take care and sending you all the best for a quick resolution. xx

    1. Many thanks Amy. We have been looking but there has been nothing we were interested in sadly. However a day at the zoo with these lovely animals really cheered me up and cleared my mind.

    1. Thanks Roy, not too cold down here really, but the zoo is always worth a visit in the winter sun as the animals all come out to enjoy its warmth, especially the primates.

    1. Thanks Em, these two are Howler Monkeys, only the male is black. The female especially had an expression I thought was just perfect for this post, she looks so fed up!

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. I read them all. At the moment I'm struggling for time making it difficult to reply individually to each comment, but I'll do my best.
